Whether your children are babes in arms or college
graduates, the essence of a family portrait is the bond between you.
With almost 30 years of expertise on our side, we can plan
your session to suit the needs of your family.
Of course, with a grown-up family the session itself is a
relaxed affair, generally there are no tears and we find we blow fewer bubbles
to encourage smiles!
Toddlers and babies are most comfortable when they feel
protected in your arms. Older children want to be independent - they don't even
like you to tidy their hair for them.
Relax. We have vast experience of photographing families of
all ages.
Once we've had a planning talk where we get to know you a
little better, we'll be able to create a beautiful family portrait that's
uniquely yours.

PHOTOGENIC has been creating family portraits from our
current studio location at 9 Railway Road, Dalkey since 1999 — and
photographing families since 1991.
Over more than three decades, we've worked with thousands of
families from across South Dublin, Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown, Wicklow and beyond,
many of whom return to us again and again as their families grow.
A family portrait session at PHOTOGENIC typically lasts one
hour in our fully accessible, ground-floor studio. Sessions are by appointment,
so your family has the space and time to settle in and enjoy the experience. We
work in both black and white and colour, and our finished portraits are printed
and custom framed by expert craftspeople — made to hang on your wall for a
lifetime, not to sit in a folder on a hard drive.
We're often asked what makes a great family portrait.
Honestly, it's less about perfect outfits or everyone smiling at exactly the
right moment — it's about capturing the genuine bond between the people in the
frame. That's what we've spent over 30 years getting good at.
If you're looking for a professional family portrait studio
